2 Division Boggo Road Prison

Rode my Bandit down last weekend for some pics of the Boggo Road site.
2 Gaol is in desperate need of maintenance. The white retaining wall behind my bike is the remains of the 70's 1 Division visitors center.

Left hand side has the 6 security punishment cells, (grey besser block) and Tower overlooking the paddocks which are now being transformed in the Boggo Road Redevelopment
 On the right is the Visitors section of 2 Division built in 1986. It's walls have 3 large murals painted by prisoner Ray Wallace

you can see the general lack of maintenance while the re-development is underway and it will stay that way until at least 2009

Here is the concrete roof of the new bus tunnel that runs directly under 2 Gaol.
View shows the Gabba cricket ground in the background. On top of the mountain of dirt at the rear of image is the location of the old 1 Division Cistern

The quadrangle was the site of the original 1883 1 Division.
It was demolished from 1969 as this newer besser block prison was built around it
